On the disputes over Iraqi elections results
Iraq, Politics, 12/27/2005
The security deterioration in Iraq coincided with the heated political situation following the appearance of the almost final results of the parliamentary elections which showed the Shiite United Iraqi coalition list to be leading.
In this regard, the forces rejecting the results of the elections organized on today a large demonstration in Baghdad deploring its results.
Three blocs including the Arab Sunni and the National Iraqi Front list led by former prime minister Eyad Allawi threatened to organize a series of acts of protest and "civil disobedience," unless the parliamentary elections are redone because of the large fraud operation, as it appeared, they said.
The spokesman for the Iraqi Front For National Dialogue, Hassan Zeidan al-Luheibi, said that the three blocs will carry out options he described as peaceful including protests and boycotting the political process until their requests are met.
The blocs also included the Iraqi al-Tawafuq Front led by Adnan al-Duleimi.
