Muslim Brothers case to be sentenced by the end of January 2006

The Libyan Court of Cassation specified January 31 as a date for announcing the verdict in the case of the Muslim Brothers group in Libya, in which some 85 persons are being tried, accused of being members in the illegal group, among other 152 persons convicted in 2002 before the People's Court which was dissolved in December 2004.

The Libyan judiciary ordered retrial of the accused men after desolving this court which called for the execution of two of them and life imprisonment for 73 of them and ten year imprisonment for others while other 66 persons were found as not guilty.
