Saddam on Washington and lying
Iraq-USA, Politics, 12/23/2005
The toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein yesterday accused during his trial the American administration of lying when it denied that he was beaten "the same way the US lied over Iraq's owning mass destruction weapons."
Saddam also said he tried to counter himself the American forces when it entered Baghdad in April 2003. He explained that he carried the shelling the first day of the American forces entry to Baghdad and headed towards Um al-Toboul mosque west of Baghdad, but the tanks turned at the place few minutes before his arrival, noting that Taha Yassin Ramadan said to him "this is a suicide."
Saddam talked about his two sons Ode and Qusai who were killed in July 2003 at the hands of the American army in Musil. He said he does not think of them as much as he thinks of Iraq.
He added in a sad voice "I do not know the person who lead the Americans to my two sons, but I know the one who lead them to me. He brought them to the place and they said who is here ? and I said I am Saddam Hussein." referring to the moment of his capture in hiding.
