Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 12/22/2005
A Syria daily has strongly criticized the Lebanese Druze leader Walid Junblat and described him as one of the "small crocks."
The Syrian- government owned daily Tishreen said that Syria is a country of principles that does not violate its values and principles, and taboos, in reaction of what the paper called those who try to undermine Syria, like Junblat and other "small crocks" whose dreams and hopes collapsed as a result of their relations with what the paper described "the forces of the new world mandate" and some of this world leaders.
The paper said "it is Junblat's right to be change views according to the changes of the world climate and the indicators for the movement of the American- Israeli winds in the region, but it is not his right to attack Syria."
The paper indicated that what it called "these aggressive stances which Junblat persists to pursue and tries to perpetuate in the minds of the world in his statements to TV satellite stations, the mass media in his being the militant against the Syrian government should be contemplated so as to analyze this sick and unbalanced conduct in his behavior."
Last Sunday Junblat accused Syria of planning to assassinate several Lebanese parliamentarians so as to reverse the majority inside the parliament that oppose Syria in order to return Lebanon back to Syrian rule.
