Mubarak proposes political program before the new parliament
Egypt, Politics, 12/20/2005
The Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, on Monday delivered a speech before the parliament in which he presented the program of the ruling national party following the legislative elections which were held recently in the country where the national party won the majority of the seats.
Mubarak stressed in the opening of the parliamentary session that Egypt is coming to a new phase after the presidential and parliamentary elections. He said that these elections were the end of one phase and the beginning of another.
The Egyptian president said "we have a clear vision for the future whose broad lines were debated, and elections program crystallized, together with its philosophy," adding that he will proceed into the implementation of this vision firmly and precisely.
Mubarak admitted that the recent political operation in Egypt showed negatives that should be admitted and learned from, and dealt with seriously, adding that these negatives "will not prevent us from completing the march of democratic reform."
On the other hand, a source in the Egyptian police said that a bomb stuffed with nails blew up in al-Geeza area and this resulted in damaging two parked cars. The source added that investigations expect that a man threw a bomb from one of the buildings in the area.
