Kurds see strong role after Iraqi elections
Iraq, Politics, 12/17/2005
Observers consider that the vast participation of all political and religious trends in Iraq will lead to strong competition among the main political forces before the formation of a new coalition government for a four-year term of office.
The Iraqi foreign minister Hishiar Zeibari expected that lengthy talks will take place to reach an agreement over the formation of the next government, noting that it will be more difficult in comparison to the previous formation of the interim government over which consultations lasted three months.
Zeibari, the candidate for the Kurdistani Coalition List, explained in a press conference held in Irbil that the Kurds will have a stronger role in the next governmental formation.
