MP suggests Iran should resume centrifuge activity
Iran-Regional, Politics, 12/14/2005

Iranian member of parliament Ali Ahmadi suggested today that Iran should resume construction and assemble centrifuge parts, IRNA reported him saying.

He rebuked the policy of 'compromise and appeasement' some former officials in Iran's nuclear team had adopted, stressing that 'negotiations' is considered as an effective means along side other political and military means.

Negotiation has different connotations as it sometimes directs a process or distracts it, it sometimes imposes pressure without any concern to resolve the problem, he noted, adding, "Then, the policy of detente and confidence-building will be turned into a policy of compromise and such a policy has no limitation. " "We sold some valuable information for nothing, expanded the suspension of uranium enrichment, closed the UCF in Isfahan and accepted all kinds of inspection." Iran has observed the NPT terms and conditions, the regulations stipulated in the additional protocol and the Paris Agreement and completely suspended the nuclear activities, Said Ahmadi who is a member of National Security and Foreign Policy at Majlis.

He warned that Iran should not give a privilege to others rather, it is supposed to take distance from the passive policy it had taken before the government of President Ahmadinejad took office.

After the election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in late June 2005, the ruler and his thought have changed, he said referring to some changes in Iran's foreign policy after the 9th presidential election in Iran.

"This change could be regarded as a turning point." He said that Iran's policy has been positively changed as far as foreign policy is concerned, stressing, "For sure, the policies of the former governments could not have been followed through a long period of time." Lambasting the wrong policies of former presidents Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami, he said during the periods many principles were sacrificed on the pretext of wisdom-seeking policies.
