Lebanese demands for international court on murder of Jubran Tweini
The Lebanese government held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the situation after the assassination of the Lebanese parliamentarian and media man Jubran Tweini in a violent blast that shocked the industrial region in East Beirut of the Christian majority.

Syria condemns Tweini assassination
Syria has quickly condemned the assassination of Lebanese member of parliament Jubran Tweini. An official statement quoted by the Syrian Official News Agency SANA said that the timing of the explosion which took place in Beirut on Monday shows the intention to damage Damascus's reputation.

Election voting starts in Iraq
Most of the persons eligible to vote in the elections, tolled 15 million, will cast their voted tomorrow, however, voting is open today for the soldiers, policemen and patients in hospitals and non-convicted detainees in crimes.

UN report continues accusations on Syria involvement in assassination
The report by Mehlis which will be discussed by the UN security council accused Syria of incomplete cooperation and described its cooperation as slow. The report called on the Syrian authorities for complete and unconditional cooperation in the next phases of the investigation.

Mehlis report accuses Syria of changing Hussam's testimony
The copy of the report which was leaked to the press said that the UN committee into the murder of Rafiq al-Hariri received "credible information" to indicate that "before Hussam retreated from his testimony given to the UN investigation committee, Syrian officials arrested and threatened some of his relatives in Syria."

Five Lebanese ministers pending activities in the Cabinet
Five Shiite ministers from the Lebanese Hizbullah party and the Amal movement, supporters of the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud, on Monday announced pending their membership in the Cabinet after it decided in a vote to call for an international investigation into the series of assassinations and explosions acts Lebanon had recently witnessed.

UN investigator seeks to have Syrian officials detained
The Director general of the Syrian TV, Fayez al-Sayegh, disclosed that Damascus has new evidence that refutes the report of the chairman of the UN investigation committee Detlev Mehlis into the assassination of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri in which Mehlis accused Syria of not cooperating, and demanded it to detain five of its officials.

Scores of Iraqi policemen, civilians, and American soldier killed
Sources at the ministry of interior said that three police men were killed and other 8 injured in clashes with gunmen in Saha (square) area towards al-Ghazaleyah area west of Baghdad. One woman was killed in the clashes in which the American forces interfered.
