Annan recommends extension to UNDOF for other 6 months

The American "SAWA" radio said that the UN secretary general Kofi Annan on Friday recommended the extension for the UN peace keeping forces in the Golan heights for more 6 months.
In a report he submitted to the UN Security Council, Annan said that the situation in the Middle East region is very tense and it is likely to remain so in the absence of reaching a comprehensive political solution that tackles all aspects of conflict in the region.
Annan recommended the extension of the mission of the UN forces which expires on January 1st for additional 6 months, considering that the presence of the UN forces in the area is very important because of the current conditions.
