Syria, Politics, 12/8/2005
Syrian anti-terrorism forces have found an explosives factory in the northern city of Aleppo Wednesday including bomb-making materials, tools and training manuals for attacks against public buildings and security headquarters.
Earlier, the forces sized documents when they raided the group on Sunday, which showed that the group had planned to put government officials and offices and other public establishments under surveillance.
The wounded group members, were wounded in Sunday's clashes, confessed before they died, due to severe wounds, that they intended to have contacts with similar groups active in neighboring countries. The group had planned to rob banks and economic facilities for financing their terrorist operations.
The security forces have, in recent operations in Aleppo and in the suburbs of Damascus, found hideouts for different kinds of explosives and weapons, of which some had been brought to the country from Lebanon.
