French cigarette produced in Syria

A licensed factory for producing French cigarettes in Syria was opened by Minister of Industry, Mohammed Ghassan Tayyara, according to an agreement between the General Establishment for Tobaccos and French Company of Altadiz.
"The factory is an important step to develop and expand activities of the Establishment .... We used to import large quantities of foreign cigarettes, particularly French Gaitanis, and by opening this factory we will only import tobacco ... this will add a value to the Syrian Pound and create new job opportunities," Tayyara said in a statement overnight to reporters.
The Minister stressed the importance of the Establishment as one of the most pioneer economic institutions in Syria which contribute in boosting the national economy.
The new factory is built on a 2250-square meter area and consist of air-conditioned production halls, assembly lines, modern laboratories, stores, offices and other services.
