Syria-Lebanon-UN, Politics, 12/7/2005

Thousands of Syrian students on Tuesday handed over a one-KM cloth roll petition, signed by 300.000 students from different Syrian colleges and institutes, to the UN deputy Resident Representative in Damascu, Hisham Najar, expressing rejection of pressures against the country.

The Chairman of National Union for Syrian Students Ammar Sa'ati read the message written on the petition and directed to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. In the petition, the students expressed denunciation over the pressures and conspiracies being hatched against Syria, stressing support to the country, renewed rejection of the report of the international investigation into the assassination of Lebanese former Premier Hariri, considering it baseless and unjustified.
