Syrian civic societies stage a sit-in

Civic societies and associations on Monday staged a sit- in at the "tent of the homeland" in al-Rawda Square in Damascus to show support to Syria's national and pan-Arab stances and rejection of the campaigns and pressures on the country. The participants in the sit-in carried national flags and photos of President Bashar al-Assad as well as banners that express condemnation of threats against Syria.
A statement for the societies said "we announce our open sit-in until pressures on Syria stop... and we call on civil societies in the world to stand against the conspiracy which target our country."
