Turkey al-Faisal submits credentials to Bush as Saudi ambassador to USA

Prince Turkey al-Faisal submitted his credentials on Saturday to the US President George W. Bush as an Ambassador for his country, Saudi Arabia.

Al-Faisal told the Saudi news agency "I have notified the US President George Bush greetings of King Abdullah and the crown prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz and conveyed to him the appreciation and respect of each of the King and the crown prince to his person and to the friendly people of the USA." He added "President Bush conveyed to me during the credential submission ceremony the extent of his appreciation and respect to the king and his ambition to develop the solid relations linking him to the King, the relations linking the USA people to the people of the Kingdom."

The agency said that Turkey al-Faisal held a meeting with the US deputy defense minister Gordon England on Saturday at the premises of the Pentagon in Washington during which joint cooperation relations and means of developing firm relations between the two countries were reviewed.

Al-Faisal called before the military academy in Carrel in Pennsylvania to continue concentration on enhancing strategic cooperation between Riyadh and Washington and improving cultural understanding between the two countries, noting that dialogue helps in facilitating cooperation in the field of fighting terrorism.

Al-Faisal explained that there are many prospects in which the two countries share responsibility in disseminating peace and security including Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Arab - Israeli conflict, stressing the importance of reaching a peaceful solution that achieves the right of the Palestinian to the foundation of their own independent state.
