Syria, Tunisia oil and gas cooperation

Syria and Tunisia inked on Thursday a minute in which they agreed to carry on joint technical meetings scheduled to be held once a year in rotation in field of gas and oil.
The two states noted that the forthcoming meeting of the joint technical committee would be held in Tunis during the first half of 2006.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Haddad and the Director General of the Tunisian Refining Industry Ali Al-Abyad discussed means of energizing the joint cooperation between the two states in field of oil industry and phosphate.
Dr. Haddad underlined importance of the Syrian-Tunisian Joint Technical Committee meetings in framework of activating and implementing term of the cooperation agreement signed between the two states.
He called to widen technical cooperation ties and exchange expertise in field of oil and gas industries as well mineral resources in addition to put into force the protocol of cooperation terms in a way that serves both states.
The minister underlined importance of specified technical data exchange in fields of petroleum and refining industries and phosphate as to make use of acquired expertise to both sides.
