Objections of judges to Egyptian elections
Egypt, Politics, 12/2/2005

In protest of the acts of violence in the Egyptian elections, the Judges Club in Egypt demanded its members who supervise the parliamentary elections to withdraw from the voting committees if they will not be able to carry out their work due to the fact that the police prevent the voters from voting.

For his part, advisor Hisham Bastaweisi, another member in the election monitoring committee in the Judges club said that "five judges were actually withdrawn and carried the voting ballots with them to the headquarters of the general committee in al-Mansoura ( al-Daqehleyah governorate) in al-Delta area north of Cairo."

He added that three of judges who supervise these elections were beaten. They are Khaled Abdul Aziz, Ahmad Abdul Aziz in Balqas center in al-Daqehleyah and Imas Shafiq Aoun in Abu Hammad center in al-Sharqeyah governorate.
