Muslim Scholars denounces accusations against Syria
Iraq-Syria, Politics, 12/1/2005
Senior Iraqi Clergyman strongly distant themselves Wednesday from the accusations by Iraqi politicians against Syria.
"Accusations against Syria by some Iraqi politicians and officials neither express nor represent Iraqi people's public opinion," Chairman of Iraqi Association of Muslim Scholars, Hareth al-Dari, said.
"They only represent their sponsors and their political authorities," al-Dari told reporters just after a meeting with Syria's Foreign minister Farouk al-Sharas.
Sharaa and Dari discussed the recent developments on the Iraqi arenas and results of the preparatory meeting of Iraq's conference for national reconciliation held recently in Cairo at the Arab League headquarters.
