Varied reactions on Saddam's trial

While the events of saddam trial was seen on world TV station, the people of the Kurdish Halabja town which toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is accused of bombarding it by a chemical weapons and resulted in killing more 5000 persons demanded the trial to be transferred to their town.

While citizens of Tikrit town, the birthplace of Saddam expressed their rejection of the legitimacy of the court in a massive demonstration, the Iraqi public was divided over the nature of the sentence that Saddam deserves. Some of them asked for his execution or imprisonment while others called for exiling him.

Saddam and his aides are facing accusations of giving order to kill 148 persons from al-Dajil city north of Baghdad following a failed assassination attempt for Saddam's assassination in 1982. In case of condemnation, Saddam and his aides might face the death penalty.
