Ahmadinejad: Iran is not an expansionist country

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that if enemies want to violate the rights of the Iranian nation, the revolutionary people of the Islamic Republic will stand up to them.

IRNA reported: Addressing a large group of Basij (volunteer) forces, he stressed that those whose hands are stained with the blood of thousands of innocent people now pretend to advocate human rights in the face of the Iranian nation.

"You (enemies) who support the Zionist regime which everyday kills thousands of innocent Palestinians have no rights to talk about human rights," he added.

"You are all suspects and should be put on trial as war criminals in the future," the Iranian president emphasized.

Referring to support of foreign powers for the former corrupted regime of Iraq during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war, he said, "You have made use of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons against nations and in Iraq, you have used uranium depleted munitions.

"You (the big powers) accuse Iran of pursuing non-peaceful nuclear programs while, we believe that your nuclear activities are inhumane and that you have weapons of mass destruction," President Ahmadinejad added.

The big powers who daily threaten freedom-seeking nations with expansion of their nuclear activities have no right to prevent Iran from utilizing peaceful nuclear technology, he said.

He further stressed that the Iranian nation is interested in establishing fair relations with all nations. Such a nation does not have a covetous eye on territory or wealth of any other nation, the president added.
