Rafsanjani criticizes pressures and threats against Syria
Syria-Iran, Politics, 11/26/2005
Head of the Iranian Expediency Council Hashemi-Rafsanjani on Friday criticized the campaign of pressure and threats practiced by some western countries and Israel against Syria.
Referring to the "ongoing crimes committed in Iraq targeting innocent civilians," Rafsanjani described such crimes as "inhuman behavior," stressing the need for foreign troops pullout from Iraq after the forthcoming elections in the country.
Addressing multitudes of Friday prayer worshipers, Rafsanjani condemned the recent Israeli aggressions on South Lebanon, touching upon the "ongoing disastrous crimes in the occupied lands and massacre of Palestinians."
He called on the international community to work to prevent inflaming the region.
