Somalia, Local, 11/23/2005
Four persons including three children were killed in a fire that erupted in one of the evacuees camps in Somalia.
Witnesses said that the fire which took place on Tuesday evening destroyed some 300 shelters for 100,000 persons who were displaced from the southern districts of the country.
The fire resulted in injuring more than 12 persons and displacing scores of families into the streets, while large number of families which used to live in the rural areas fled to the cities especially Mogadishu.
Worthy mentioning that Somali has been witnessing a state of instability since the toppling the former President Muhammad Seyad Berri in 1991. This was because of the fighting of the Somali groups to confiscate the authorities and partition the countries into warring rivaling sectors.
