Syria and Egypt discuss gas pipeline use in Syria

Syria's Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Haddad, conferred Monday with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Fahmi on steps taken to implement the third phase of the Arab Natural Gas Pipeline extended from Jordanian borders into the Syrian-Turkish borders via the Syrian central city of Homs.

During their meeting in Cairo, the two ministers discussed the implemented steps of the project's 395 - kilometer long second phase which goes through Jordanian lands to the Syrian borders.

In this context, both sides conferred on the possibility of an agreement between both countries to export the Egyptian natural gas to Syria for running industrial areas and electrical energy stations.
