Russian personalities express support to Syria

Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party Igan Melinkov stressed Sunday the necessity of supporting Syria and her political stances to face US plots and pressures against her.

Within a symposium organized by the Syrian Community in Russia and the Russian Communist Party, Melinkov pointed out at the Syrian community's main role to enhance and deepen the bilateral relations between the two countries "as well as to uncover all lies broadcast by some medias regarding situation in the Middle East."

For his part, Sergy Igazian a counselor at the National Security Council of the Russian Parliament underlined the importance of the historic ties connecting Syria and Russia.

"It is so necessary to uncover all pressures have been exerted on Syria and have threatened stability in the region," he added.

Chairman of the Syrian Community in Russia Azzam Al-Rashi expressed Syrian expatriates' confidence in their leadership's political stances. "President Assad's speech expressed our nation's conscience," Al-Rashi said in a statement.
