Ivanov satisfaction over Syria's international cooperation
Syria-Russia, Politics, 11/18/2005
Russian National Security Advisor Igor Ivanov on Wednesday voiced his country's satisfaction over Syria's cooperation in implementing the international resolution concerned with investigation over killing of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri.
In statements to journalists after meeting President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Farouq al-Sharaa, Ivanov hoped "Syria's cooperation in the international investigation would enable international investigator Detlev Mehlis to do his mission and provide the UN Security Council with data in this respect." He noted that he would continue discussions with Foreign Minister Sharaa over all regional and international issues. Ivanov announced that he conveyed a verbal message to President Baashar al-Assad from his Russian counterpart President Putin in which he voiced satisfaction over the implementation of accords reached to during President Assad's visit to Moscow last January.
