Demonstrations in Iraq to release more prisoners in Baqouba
Iraq, Politics, 11/16/2005
The American forces released on Tuesday Hatem Hosni, the brother of Hajem Hosni who is the chairman of the Iraqi parliament.
This coincided with the demonstrations by hundreds of the Iraqis in Baqouba city northeast of Baghdad demanding the release of 370 persons from the governorate who were detained Saturday by the Maghaweir forces of the Iraqi ministry of interior.
In al-kout city, hundreds of the supporters of the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader demonstrated before the building of the governorate in the downtown of the city demanding the release of 25 members of al-Mahdi army.
One official in al-Amara area, south of Baghdad, announced that the employees will carry out a strike in the state's establishment in the governorate of Meisan in protest of the campaign of detention and breaking in by the British forces.
On the acts of detention, the UN said that the foreign forces in Iraq led by the USA detain Iraqi civilians so quickly so that the UN team cannot follow up on the rights of those detainees.
