Different attacks in Iraq, 9 dead

In many different attacks in Iraq, nine Iraqi police members were killed and other nine injured including one civilian in attacks launched by gunmen in the Iraqi capital Baghdad and the city of Karkouk

Security sources said that three police men were killed and other three injured in a bomb explosion in Karkouk. This came a short time after the killing of four emergency police men when their vehicle was ambushed by gunmen west of the city.

In Baghdad`, two police men were killed and seven were injured including one civilian when a booby trapped car went off near a restaurant in al Mashtal quarter visited by security men. The explosion also resulted in destroying three vehicles for the police and nine sedan cars were damaged as a result.

The Iraqi arena witnesses a series of attacks, the recent of which was the killing of two contractors and injuring of a third working in the area of security in a bomb explosion on a road near the Green Zone in the downtown of Baghdad. One American and one Iraqi were injured in the attack.
