Larijani: IAEA should stay away from politics
Iran-UN, Politics, 11/14/2005

Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani yesterday told reporter son Iran's nuclear program that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should respect application of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) at international level and it is not acceptable to add a note for every individual member state, IRNA reported.

"If you add an extra note for every member state, the NPT will lose its legitimacy," he said. The UN agency had better remain as the reference for technical examination of nuclear program of every member state and not to be driven by politics, he said.

Meantime, IRNA reported that Iran's "Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi here Sunday stressed that uranium enrichment should be conducted inside the country."
