Continued US pressure on Damascus
Syria-USA, Politics, 11/14/2005
The USA has continued its intensive pressures on Damascus. The US secretary of state Condaleezza Rice renewed accusations against Syria of not collaborating with the UN investigation committee in the murder of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri.
In a joint press conference with her Saudi peer in Riyadh, prince Saud al-Faisal, Rice said that "what we have seen (from Damascus) are numerous criticism for the investigation process."
Rice who visits Saudi Arabia in the course of a tour in the Middle East, expressed her hope that Syria will collaborate with the committee "in one way or another."
These statements came after Rice had confirmed in a conference in Bahrain on democracy and development that her country will continue supporting the ambition of the Syrian people to freedom, democracy and justice in the course of the rule of the law.
