UN extends American occupation forces in Iraq for another year
Iraq-UN, Politics, 11/9/2005

Despite the daily losses in the lines of the American forces, the American defense department notified some 92,000 soldiers they will be on rotating service in Iraq for the two coming years as from mid 2006.

A spokesman for the Pentagon said that this does not mean any reduction in the basic size of these forces which is 138,000 soldiers. There are now some 160,000 soldiers in Iraq.

The US got extension for the coalition forces it leads in Iraq for another year at a time when it seems that no member at the UN Security Council opposes that.
