Sit-in downtown Beirut to protest US policies in the world
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 11/8/2005

Lebanese youths on Monday held a sit-in downtown Beirut protesting the US policy in the world. The sit-in was held when US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs, Elizabeth Debel ,and US Ambassador in Beirut Jeffrey Feltman opened an exhibition for US products in Beirut.

The protestors raised pictures of US violations in Iraq and posters that condemn the US practices in the world.

They delivered speeches calling for putting an end to the US intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs and boycotting US products.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Lebanese al-Najada Party said that the Judicial Committee, formed by Syria, to cooperate with the international investigation committee into the assassination of Lebanese former Premier Rafiq Hariri confirms that there is nothing to be hidden by Syria regarding this crime.

"Syria is open to all...since the day of assassination, Syria considered this act its first issue and called for bringing those who committed the crime to justice," Mostafa Hakim said in a statement.

He added that evidences of the international investigation should be hard and clear, not to be based on presumptions or false testimonies.
