Al-Mutlaq threatens to boycott the elections
Iraq-USA, Politics, 11/7/2005
In reaction to the recent American military operation in Iraq, the chairman of the Iraqi Front bloc Saleh al-Mutlaq threatened to boycott the legislative elections due to be held in December, unless the American forces stop its operation that are ongoing in the west of Iraq.
He threatened in a statement that "launching military extermination operations against these areas, with the approaching elections, brings back to mind the operations of destroying al-Falluja which preceded the previous elections in January this year."
The court of the Sunni Waqf in Iraq deplored the current military operations in the city, considering that these operations target civilians and do not contribute to the establishment of security.
The national dialogue council deplored the attack and said these actions will be conducive to more blood shed of innocents.
