Qatar, France call on Syria to cooperate, Mubarak has confidence in al-Assad's wisdom

Qatar's foreign minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin jabber al-Thani called on Syria to honor the UN investigations pertinent to it and stressed simultaneously the need to preserve stability in the region.
This was expressed following the meeting between the Qatari foreign minister and the French President Jacques Chirac in Paris in which he explained that his country seeks to ease down the situation, but denied the existence of a Qatari initiative concerning UN resolution 1636 which demands Syria to fully cooperate with the UN investigation committee on the murder of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri.
Sheikh Hamad said that President Bashar al-Assad notified him that Damascus is ready to cooperate with this committee positively and completely.
For his part, Chirac said that France stands with the international community in calling on Syria to fully and totally cooperate with the investigation committee.
In Cairo, the Egyptian President Honsi Mubarak expressed his confidence in the wisdom of the Syrian president that will lead to detente in the current situation, noting that al-Assad will respond to the international demands regarding the UN investigation to the murder of al-Hariri, and that al-Assad had actually announced several steps and positive stances to this effect.
