Member of Muslim Scholars Commission detained

The American forces detained Diab Saad al-Obeidi, member of the Muslim Scholars Commission member and Imam and preacher of Abi Sida mosque in Baqouba.

Earlier, the Iraqi police was targeted by an attack that resulted in killing 6 of them and injuring other 12 near the city.

On Friday morning, large number of gunmen attacked one inspection point for the Iraqi police in Bahraz area near the city which the American forces announced several weeks ago as a "mopped up and purified area." One survived police man said that the attack was surprising and lasted for 15 minutes in which machine guns and missiles were used.

In another attack five Maghaweir members affiliate to al-Raad contingent of the ministry of interior were killed and other three were injured in a bomb explosion near Taza town south of Karkouk city to the northeast of Baghdad.

Three Iraqis were killed and other 6 injured when one bus collided with one American tank in al-Doura area south of Baghdad.

One medical source in al-Yarmouk hospital said that one Iraqi was killed and 8 injured in a bomb explosion in al-Doura area south of Baghdad.
