Azhar Grand Imam: Muslim-Christian dialogue helps all to overcome problems

Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Mohammed Sayyed Tantawi, described the dialogue among all religions specially Islam and Christianity as a constructive one that would help both Muslims and Christians to overcome everyday problems.

He further reiterated the necessity of deepening such dialogue. This came during the visit paid by Rev. Mouneer Hanna, the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese in Egypt and northern Africa for the Grand Imam to offer his greetings on the occasion of Eidul-Fitr (Lesser Bairam). The Bishop also visitedAli Gomaa, Egypt's Mufti, and offered greetings on the same occasion. Ali said, during the meeting, that both Muslims and Christians must abandoned extremism and fanaticism rejected by both religions.
