Elections campaigns start in Iraq

At the political level in Iraq, the independent higher commission for elections officially announced the beginning of the election campaigns for parties and movements taking part in the legislative elections due in mid December. The commission council member Fred Ayar said that the campaign starts from the date of accepting the nomination and continues until the day which directly precedes the voting.

He added that the elections campaign will be free and within the confines of declared rules and laws, including not using governments building or provoking national, religious, sectarian, tribal or regional sectarianism among citizens.
