26,000 Iraqis were killed or injured as a result of war on terrorism

The US army announced on Saturday in a statement the killing of three of its soldiers in two separate attacks in north and south of Baghdad, and thereby number of American soldiers killed in Iraq increased to 2015 since the invasion of this country in March 2003.

In this regard, the US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld said that the campaign against the Iraqi gunmen is succeeding, but explained that it is difficult to say if Washington has won what is called the war against terrorism.

For its part, al-Qaida organization in Iraq led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi doubted the results announced by the American forces on the number of its killed soldiers in Iraq, stressing that the number of US soldiers killed exceeds "by many times" the number 2000, which was already exceeded several days ago."

In this regard, a report submitted by the US defense department to the Congress said that about 26,000 Iraqis were killed or injured in attacks carried out by gunmen since January 2004. But the report ignored to give mention to the number of Iraqis killed by the fire of the American forces.
