Syria's Minister of Culture, Mahmoud al-Sayied, discussed with Director of Metropolitan Museum of New York, Philipe Dimontello, and his accompanying delegation the organization of the archeological exhibition by the Metropolitan Museum in the year 2008 and which will exhibit the discoveries of the 2nd millennium BC in the Middle East.

Dimontello, in a statement to reporters said that his visit also aimed at the continuation of cooperation that has started in the past between his museum and the Ministry of Culture in sphere of exchanging expertise in the work of museums and the restoration works in addition to rearrangement of the archeological Islamic and Arab pieces at the Metropolitan Museum in order to expose the contribution of the Arab and Islamic civilization to the development of human civilization.
