Bad situation in the Middle East, Russian paper says
Syria-Russia, Politics, 10/28/2005
Russian Pravda newspaper said the economic sanctions and political isolation that the American administration is trying to impose of Syria means a new phase of tension and destabilizing the Middle East region.
In an article written by Andre Philipov published Thursday, the paper said that the aim of the American administration focuses on putting pressures on Syria to surrender to American demands.
The daily pointed out that the notion of a so-called "Greater Middle East" means in fact an interference in the internal affairs of Arab states, pointing out that Syria is the target of American pressures and accusation due to its national stances that don't suit American policy.
The paper indicated that controlling the energy resources in the Middle East is the main reason that motivates the US to launch a new adventure in the region.
