Lebanon rules out braking into Palestinian groups bases

The Lebanese government announced that the army units which besieged bases of two Palestinian organizations on the border with Syria, will not break into these positions.
The Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Areidi on Thursday said in statements to al-Jazeera satelliteTV that there is no decision to break into the Palestinian positions. He added that the Lebanese prime minister Fouad Sinioura will call for the resumption of the dialogue with the Palestinian groups on the issue of dismantling the weapons.
These statements came after information came to that extra units arrived in the surrounding of the two towns of Helweh and Sultan Yaqoub on the Lebanese- Syrian borders and the closure of openings leading to the bases of the People's Front For Liberation Of Palestine - General Command and Fatah uprising; bases which have been in the area since the 1970s.
This area which includes bases drilled in the mountains are witnessing tension since the withdrawal of the Syrian forces in April this year, and following Lebanese statements indicating the involvement of Palestinian members in smuggling persons and weapons from Syria to Lebanon.
A report compiled by the UN special envoy in Lebanon Terry Rod Larsen o Wednesday said that weapons still flow via the border with Syria to the Palestinians in Lebanon.
