Seven Palestinians killed by Israel
Palestine-Israel, Military, 10/28/2005

Seven Palestinians including two members of Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, were killed and other 15 injured in an Israeli air raid on the north of Gaza.

News reports said that a car carrying activists in al-Jihad movement was bombed by missiles on the road between Jabalia camp and Beit Lahia, north of Gaza.

Among the killed Palestinians are Shadi Muhanna, the leader of Saraya al-Quds in Gaza and one of his aides, while the other victims were civilians standing at the site of the attack.

Prior to the raid, one Israeli force broke into the city of Jenin, north of the West Bank, and detained Sheikh Abdul Halim Ezz Eddine, one of the political leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement.

The occupation forces clashed with members of the Palestinian resistance and news reports said that the occupation forces detained also several guests for Sheikh Ezz Eddine after inspecting his house in al-Zahra quarters at the pretext of research for weapons.

The occupation soldiers also broke into Qabatia town near Jenin, the birthplace of Hassan Abu Zeid, the executor of al-Khudeira operation which resulted in killing five Israelis and injuring other 30. The occupation forces also detained the father of Abu Zeid and other nine suspected to be members in the Jihad movement.

Meantime, the Israeli warplanes bombarded areas in Khan Younis south of Gaza on Wednesday morning in two separate raids and the Israeli occupation army closed the West Bank and Gaza crossing.

These measures came in execution of orders by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and his defense minister Shaoul Mofaz for his forces to launch a large scale attack against the Palestinian areas in order to strike the resistance especially al-Jihad members. Mofaz told journalists that the Israeli forces will spare no efforts to overcome the movement's infrastructure.
