Grand mufti meets French clerical delegation

A French delegation of clergymen visiting Syria said they learned a lot from the exemplary state of religious fraternity and tolerance among the Syrians. The two sides also asserted the role of Moslem and Christian clergymen in working together for the service of humanity and peace in the world
Members of the delegation, who met the Grand Mufti of the Republic sheikh Ahmad Hassoun overnight, described Syria as an example to be followed in the world in terms of religious broadmindedness and tolerance. The Grand Mufti stressed that Syria, the cradle of civilizations and divine religions, lives in firm national unity and fraternity.
The two sides also asserted the role of Moslem and Christian clergymen in working together for the service of humanity and peace in the world. SANA
