2,000 US soldiers killed, 15,000 injured so far in Iraq

The Pentagon said that number of killed American forces in Iraq increased since the beginning of the invasion in 2003 to 2000 soldiers after the killing of two American soldiers in Falluja in an ambush by gunmen on Tuesday.
According to estimates by the Pentagon, the number of wounded American soldiers reached more than 15,000.
The New York Times reported yesterday that " In one sign of the enormity of the Iraqi loss, at least 3,870 were killed in the past six months alone, according to an Associated Press count."
Al-Qaida organization in Iraq led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi claimed responsibility for the explosions which target the Palestine and Sheraton hotels in the downtown of Baghdad and claimed the life of 19 persons and several other wounded.
At least 30 persons were killed on Tuesday in various attacks targeting the relatively secure al-Sulemaneyah city, compared with others, while nine bodies for Iraqi border guards were found.
Ten Kurdish Bashmerka police members were killed in three suicide operations that shook al-Sulemaneyah city, the headquarters of the Iraqi President Jalal al-Talibani few hours after a military parade attended by senior officials led by al-Talibani.
Mella Bakhtiar, member of the political bureau for the national union survived the assassination attempt by two booby trapped cars in al-Sulemaneyah resulted in killing two of his private guards.
Military sources in Baghdad announced the killing of 18 Iraqis including police officers and four soldiers in different attacks in Baghdad, its south and in Baqouba.
In Beji, 220 km north of Baghdad, two employees in an electrical equipment company were killed when a mortar shelling fell on an American base.
In Karbala, 110 km south of Baghdad, a source in al-Hussein hospital said that the border guards brought nine of its members found killed in al-Nakhib area, 180 km west of Karbala.
