Continued American raids in Iraq, 70 gunmen killed

The US army announced in a statement that some 70 gunmen were killed in a series of clashes and air raids two days before near Ramadi city in Anbar governorate, west of Iraq.
The statement said that the American fighters and helicopters took part in the bombardment of scores of gunmen with most of them in Bufraj area, north of Ramadi.
The statement justified the raids due to what it said bomb manufacturing and that the Iraqi and American forces are exposed in this area to attacks.
Medical sources and witnesses said that 29 civilians were killed and other 34 injured including children when they gathered around the crash of one American military vehicle.
On the other hand, some 18 Iraqis were killed and others injured most of them are members in the Iraqi army and police in various attacks in the country.
