Ambassador in Madrid hails coexistence in Syria

Syria's ambassador in Spain praised on Monday spirit of tolerance and amity in Syria saying that these points have made Syria an example to be followed in the world.

"The spirit of tolerance, amity, solidarity and coexistence that Syria is enjoying have made her an example to be followed," Mohsen Bilal told opening Spanish art exhibition on Syria.

He emphasized significance of dialogue among cultures and the cultures meeting to remove al doubts and prejudged opinions.

Bilal noted the "need to respect the international resolutions in handling conflicts in the Middle East and the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions to solve the Palestinian cause."

He noted in his speech to close ties and historical relationship between the two peoples and leaderships in Syria and Spain pointing out that the exhibition was a result of that.

An exhibition joining hundreds of photos for Spanish artists who visited Syria opened today in Valencia to use its revenue in building a center to habilitate Syria girls living in the city.

A book issued on the occasion quoted president of the regional government of Valencia as saying this project would strengthen ties between our peoples who share many common characteristics.
