al-Ahram: Egyptian fm warns against Israel's nuclear singularity
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 10/14/2005

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit warned on Thursday against Israel's singularity in possessing nuclear powers in the area, and Israel's rejection to subjugate its nuclear buildings to the international monitoring.

"This singularity would create a state of instability in the Middle East as Israel's non joining to the Non-Proliferation Treaty is threatening, with negative consequences," the minister told al-Ahram newspaper.

The minister called to handle the subject in an objective, and transparent way staying away from double standards.

Aboul Gheit urged the need to respect international resolutions of relevance to the nuclear issue and to boost independence of the IAEA to enable it play its role in an adequate way.
