Lebanese deputy speaker: Kanaan suicide due to pain from Syrian-Lebanese development

Lebanese Deputy Speaker Eli Ferzli said on Wednesday the suicide of Syria's Minister of Interior General Ghazi Kanaan was due to his mental anguish for the loss of his great efforts he put in Lebanon, stressing that it has noting to do with the UN report over the Hariri assassination.

" General Kanaan was very keen on protecting the reputation of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri as his own," Ferzli told Voice Of Lebanon radio in a statement. "He had strong and deep pain due to the developments in the Lebanese arena," he said.
