30 Iraqis killed in Tel-Afer

Some 30 persons were killed and other 25 injured when a suicide bomber blew up himself amid a gathering outside the recruitment headquarters in the lines of the army and the police north of Tel-Afer city.

The city's police director said that a person was wearing an explosives belt exploded himself among some 500 persons standing before a recruitment center for the army and the police, noting that the building was opened 6 days before to receive people.

Wednesday's operation in Tel-Afer came after a similar operation in the same city on Tuesday resulted in killing 30 persons and injuring other 45 in a booby trapped car explosion amid the market place.

Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and a fourth injured in an attack by gunmen at an inspection point south of Karkouk city.

In a separate incident, six Iraqis were injured three of them police members when a booby trapped car targeted the minister of the Iraqi governorates affairs Saad Nayef al-Hardan in al-Qadeseyah west of Baghdad on Wednesday.

For its part, the American army announced the killing of two of its soldiers and injuring one another after a vehicle accident near north of Baghdad, according to a statement by the army.
