Efficient and fair courts for the public are required from judges, Syrian minister

Minister of Justice Mohammad al- Ghufari said Monday that Syria is determined to go ahead in the process of judicial reform, calling for doubling efforts to have cases presented to the courts system to be resolved in a speedy manner.

The minister, heading a meeting with judges at the Justice Palace in Damascus, underlined the important role played by the judiciary in implementing the law and deepening justice and values in society.

"We should work seriously to promote the judiciary to the needed level and achieve justice between the litigants," Ghufari said, noting to the features and characteristics judges must enjoy during their work.

He urged judges to exert more efforts to adhere to laws and regulations when issuing their verdicts.
