Security clashes in Ein Shams university
Egypt, Politics, 10/10/2005
Students, who demonstrated in Ein Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday destroyed the glazed facades of the university's guards office by stones during their clashes with the guards, and this resulted in injuring three students and two soldiers.
The clashes took place following a verbal row between one demonstrator and officers from the university guards, soon developed to beating between the two sides and the security men use of sticks to prevent students attacks at the guards office. The security men were surprised by the students striking the officer with stones and destroying the front facade of the office.
The demonstrators, including hundreds of female students chanted slogans against the security forces last week for detaining university female students and interrogate them for hours, as well as the security men interference in the life of the university students, and expelling many of them from the residential hostels. The students carried banners demanding the security men to leave the university and to create an environment for freedom.
