Asefi decribes Syrian-Iranian relations as distinguished
Syria-Iran, Politics, 10/10/2005

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asafi described the Syria-Iranian relations as "distinguished and deeply rooted".

In his weekly press conference Sunday, Asafi underlined that Syrian and Iranian officials have a political will to reinforce those relations as well to continue consultation and exchanging viewpoints.

"The recent visits of Speaker of Iranian Islamic Consultative Council Ghulam Ali Haddad Adel and Iranian National Security Higher Council Secretary Ali Larijani to Syria were positive and dealt with all issues and developments of the region." Asafi said.

He added that Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottak's late tour to the Gulf States came to assert Iran's insistence to establish strong fraternal relations with the Arab and Islamic countries.
